Our full-time medical practitioner, Dr Michael Speedy, has a particular interest in the management of patients requiring regular therapeutic venesections. Together with our haematologists, Dr Speedy is available for therapeutic venesections, bone marrow biopsies, and other procedures.

Bone marrow biopsies
Bone marrow is the spongy tissue and fluid which is inside some of the larger bones in the body. A biopsy involves the removal of a small amount of tissue and fluid from the bone marrow.
Therapeutic venesections
A therapeutic venesection is the removal of a volume of blood (usually 400mls) as a treatment for certain conditions of the blood.
