Aged Care COVID Testing Services

Clinpath continue to support Aged Care Facilities with onsite COVID testing services. To access our testing services either email our COVID team at covidagedcare@clinpath.com.au or phone our COVID Hotline on 1800 570 573.

All COVID testing is bulk billed with a GP referral and a valid Medicare number. Clinpath will assist you to prepare COVID request forms for whole of site testing and a spreadsheet will be provided to submit patient details on confirmation of your booking.

Onsite testing is generally available within 24-48 hours, with results available via Sonic DX.

The Clinpath COVID-19 testing domiciliary service is available 7 days a week from 8am-4pm.  Scheduled collection times are not provided as we attend to hospitals and  priority requests. We have multiple services available for the community. We service Metropolitan and Regional South Australia, we also provide self collect services.

Regional & Metropolitan

Clinpath can support  COVID collections in a number of ways. Where possible we will provide onsite testing support with our highly experienced collection team providing.

For remote areas we can also provide the self-collect option whereby your team can collect the sample and we can provide logistical support with a courier collecting the samples and delivering them to our laboratory for testing.                                 

Please note there may be some fees and charges associated with regional travel which our team will discuss with you at the time of making a booking. 

Self Collect

Clinpath provide a COVID-19 self collect option enabling onsite nursing staff to collect COVID samples. Self Collect COVID kits include a swab and instructions on how to take the sample.

Full PPE, including gloves, gown, mask and eye protection should be worn at all times when collecting COVID samples. To order the self-collect kits please complete a stores order form via our Doctor Stores page.

The Clinpath courier department is available to assist with the collection of any self-collected samples.

Full Facility Testing

Booking Process

Email your booking request to covidagedcare@clinpath.com.au

Please ensure you include the following:

  • Facility name
  • Best contact person (name, contact number, position eg. Registered Nurse or Facility Coordinator) 
  • Number of Residents needing testing
  • Number of Wards 
  • Purpose for testing (positive resident, screening facility, screening ward)

Our Covid Team will send a spreadsheet for the facility to fill in accordingly. Clinpath will  generate the request forms for day of testing. The spreadsheet will require the following information :

  • Patient full name 
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Medicare number 
  • Ward and room number
  • Doctor Name 
  • Doctors current practice and provider number (if available)

Once the spreadsheet has been sent to clinpathagedcare@clinpath.com.au our team will present to the facility within 24-48 hours. Results will be released within 24-48 hours of the swab being taken.
