Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) cytology

The aspiration of cellular material from clinically suspicious lesions by a fine needle to assess contents by cytological morphology.

FNA can be performed by Clinpath Pathologists upon request on palpable lesions not requiring ultrasound or Image Intensification.

Why cytological examination by FNA?

Examination of FNA will enable the detection of malignant or pre-malignant cells that will enable clinical management that may lead to surgical resection and other forms of clinical investigations and management.
