COVID-19 Update Wednesday 18 March 2020
As a provider of pathology services within South Australia, Clinpath Pathology remains vigilant in the management of risks that have the potential to impact our ability to operate. As you would be aware, on advice from the SA Health Communicable Disease Control Branch, Clinpath Pathology continues to be unable to test for the COVID-19 virus.
Collection Centre Management Update
Clinpath continues to operate as per normal and must continue to do so, to provide our patients with routine pathology collection services. However, we continue to strive to remain vigilant in the management of risks that have the potential to impact our ability to operate, as much as for patient health and wellbeing.
We accept and follow the advice of SA Health Authorities with regards to COVID-19 as these guidelines are set out to protect our staff, as much as the most vulnerable in the community, and our clients within residential aged care or hospital facilities.
To recap, we have the following in place:
All patients will be ‘screened’ by our own Collector prior to any test.
All patients presenting with flu like symptoms or who have a request for respiratory testing will be asked to attend a standalone Collection Centre.
Clinpath will only accept respiratory collection requests at our nominated standalone Collection Centres.
A list of standalone Collection Centres is available on our website home page for easy referencing by all – or via this following direct link:
We have ceased specialised testing at the listed standalone Collection Centres to ensure patients needing these services are given priority in these locations.
Oncology patients or those patients who are immune compromised are advised not to enter the standalone Collection Centres.
We encourage oncology or immune compromised patients to consider having their tests at either:

Parkside SA 5063

7am – 11am
Rembrandt Living, Green Fields Home Care Hub
21 GreenField Road, Green Fields
Mon – Wed – Fri

Patients can continue to call (08) 8366 2000 to discuss.
Testing arrangements are reviewed daily in line with guidelines and national advice and we encourage you to stay aware of our directives, either via this medium, your BD Client Liaison Rep, or our website.
Demand for medical supplies is high.
We are managing the allocation and distribution of supplies for the collection of pathology as best as we can, however we have prioritised supply of consumables to our own Collection Centres. We will fulfil all orders however note that some products have become limited and/or your requested quantities have been reduced out of necessity.
The start of 2020 had already seen bushfires and floods across Australia, and now we face the COVID-19 implications. Through it all we are pleased we have been able to work with you, our clients to continue to put the patient at the core of all we do. The latest edition of our Doctor Newsletter covers snippets of information to keep you in line with up to date thinking, new tests and services. However, if at any point you need to speak to us directly, please contact our Pathologists direct, or your Client Services representative.
We are always here for you - to help you understand any aspect of Pathology in our local marketplace.
Once again, we encourage you to stay aware of our directives, either via this medium, your BD Client Liaison Rep, or our website.
